Privacy
Our privacy team supports companies in all aspects of privacy compliance, primarily in the United States and the European Union. Acting as fractional in-house counsel, we assist companies in navigating the patchwork of privacy laws and developing a privacy program tailored to their business activities and regulatory environment. Our team offers multiple levels of support, depending on the client’s needs. Our privacy products range from identifying applicable laws and regulations, drafting public-facing privacy notices, drafting internal privacy policies and employee training guidelines, and preparing templates for responses to consumer requests. In addition, Kaleo Legal has vast experience in negotiating commercial contracts of all kinds, and we incorporate our privacy expertise into these reviews, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy terms and addendums.
Cybersecurity
Kaleo Legal partners with companies of various industries on security incident management, with an emphasis on incident preparedness. We help our clients develop security incident response plans, with practical checklists that can be utilized by various stakeholders across their organization. We assist our clients in determining their information security compliance obligations, including regulatory obligations and contractual obligations in commercial contracts, and third-party risk management considerations. With each step of the information life cycle in mind, our goal is to help our clients prepare and mitigate risks by negotiating contractual provisions to ensure compliance and limit liability, developing robust incident response plans, and facilitating table-top exercises to test those response plans, in addition to being the first phone call our clients make when faced with an actual incident.
